Create a data lake to support an end-to-end Supply Chain Dashboard utilizing Predictive Analytics and Alerting
At the time, there was fragmented data with no AI, Automation, or Alerting capabilities for any North American Supply Chain functional area
Solution
Partnered with IT and all North America Supply Chain functional areas to determine what data was needed and how it would be presented to each area. Partnered with Deloitte to bring best-in-class functionality to life.
We created a North American ecosystem, including a comprehensive Supply Chain Dashboard linking critical metrics across multiple data sources to provide insights using advanced visualizations and mobile accessibility. Data was joined internally and externally to show a holistic view of product from Unilever manufacturing sites all the way down to customer DCs and individual stores.
Results
As a result of the North American Data Lake and Supply Chain Dashboard we created:
The North America SC Dashboard reduced the time to identify root causes of selected customer service issues from 3 weeks to minutes.
Enabled to $13MM in revenue growth by improving Customer Service levels.
Predictive Analytics for Inventory allowed DCs to consistently adjust inventory levels during the month, resulting in the avoidance of End-of-Month grid-lock, better overall inventory balancing, and increased Customer Service levels for our customers.
Over $2MM combined in growth and efficiency savings.
Alerting functionality with parameters was implemented to automatically review key KPIs and send alerts to end users when KPIs were in risk of being compromised. Allowing the systems to monitor and alert for upcoming issues automatically, provided end-users more time to focus on operations for the business.
